Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 2026 | Version 1.0
This Cookie Policy explains how JobsApply uses cookies and similar
technologies. It is part of our
Privacy Policy. Under the ePrivacy
Directive, UK PECR, and similar laws, we must obtain your consent before
setting any non-essential cookie on your device. You can change your
preferences at any time from the cookie banner or by clearing the
cookie_consent cookie in your browser.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device to
remember information about you between visits. Similar technologies include
localStorage, session storage, and pixel tags. This policy
covers all of them.
2. What we use
2.1 Strictly necessary (always active)
These cookies are required to log you in, submit forms, and maintain session state. The Service cannot function without them, so your consent is not required under applicable law.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
sessionid | Django session cookie — identifies your logged-in session | First-party, HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax | 14 days |
csrftoken | CSRF protection for state-changing forms | First-party, HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax | 1 year |
cookie_consent | Remembers your cookie-banner choice so we do not re-prompt | First-party | 1 year |
2.2 Preferences (opt-in)
These cookies store preferences that improve your experience. They are set only after you accept them via the cookie banner.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
tz_sent | Avoids re-sending your browser timezone to us on every page load | First-party | 1 day |
ja-theme (localStorage) | Remembers your light / dark theme choice | First-party | Until cleared |
2.3 Analytics (opt-in)
We use a privacy-friendly, cookie-less analytics provider to understand aggregate usage. It does not set cookies, does not track individual users across sites, and does not collect personal information beyond browser/OS/country-level metadata. Analytics loads only if you have accepted analytics in the cookie banner. The identity of the provider is available on request to privacy@jobsapply.app.
2.4 Advertising and cross-site tracking
We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking of any kind. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising purposes.
3. How to manage your preferences
- Click "Cookie preferences" in the footer at any time to change your choices.
- You can also clear cookies in your browser. All major browsers allow you to block or delete cookies; see the browser's help documentation.
- Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent the Service from working.
- We honour the browser-level Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out of analytics and any category that requires consent.
4. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy. We will note material changes in the next version of the Privacy Policy and on the cookie banner.
